About Covenant Life
Simple. Sincere. Steadfast.
These words describe how we want to keep the gospel clear, approach Scripture honestly, and remain rooted in what it teaches.
Simple
We want to speak clearly about the gospel. We are sinners, and Jesus Christ made atonement for our sin through his life and work on the cross. Salvation is God’s gift, received through faith and repentance. We do not make health, wealth, or personal success part of the gospel’s promise.
Simplicity shapes our gatherings, too. We meet without much fanfare, sing, pray, and give our attention to worship and biblical instruction.
Sincere
We want to search the Scriptures honestly and in context. That means asking what a passage says before asking it to support what we already want. We come with humility, willing to let God’s Word correct our assumptions and shape how we live.
Rather than treating the Bible as a promise of an easier or more successful life, we want to hear what it offers on its own terms and respond faithfully.
Steadfast
Having heard Scripture this way, we want to hold fast to its teaching. We look to what Christ and the apostles taught and seek to understand it as its first hearers did. We do not want to set that teaching aside simply because it is uncomfortable or unfashionable.
We believe Jesus Christ is the way to the Father. People who see things differently are welcome to worship with us, even as we speak plainly about what we believe.
